Celebrating Excellence

AACC Education Excellence Award:  
Instructors of member colleges may apply for the AACC Education Excellence Award. The application deadline is August of each year, and the AACC will grant 4 (four) $500 educational excellence awards at the Alberta Association of Career College Annual General Meeting in October.

 SELECTION CRITERIA 

To be considered for this award, you must: 

Be a continuous instructor within the previous annual cycle (April 1 – March 31) at a member school

  • Submit your application by August 31.

  • Recognized contribution to the school community.

  • Statistics for your institution’s annual PCC report for employment and graduation

  • Nomination from your college

 SELECTION PROCESS

 All applicants are evaluated by the AACC board based on the following three standard criteria:

  1. High Academic Achievement: This is based on your institution’s annual employment and graduation statistics for your program.

  2. Contribution to the School Community: This is based on information presented in your application form, and by information provided by your letter(s) of recommendation, plus any reinforcing narrative you provide.

  3. College Nomination: This is based on the nomination information that is presented in your application, by information provided by your letter(s) of recommendation, plus any reinforcing narrative you provide.

Decisions regarding which candidates are assigned specific awards are based on assessment of information gathered in the nomination process. With all conditions met, award recipients will be officially advised by email of their award. As a courtesy, applicants who are unsuccessful in the award program will also be notified by email. The Awards Ceremony is normally scheduled during the Annual Fall AGM.
